The downloadable audio guides provide a fascinating insight into the great man and how he used the local Bromley countryside to form his theories. The audio tours reveal why Darwin found school boring, where he found meat-eating plants and how he got all his friends and family to help him with some rather unusual experiments. Audio Trails were commissioned by the London Borough of Bromley to produce the unique guides and in addition have produced activity sheets for each of the trails for visitors to complete as they make their way around the routes. An iPod friendly 'podscroll' has also been produced for the Downe Audio Trail - the village where he spent the last 40 years of his life - which contains the activities, map and directions. Electronic versions of the activities, map and directions can also be downloaded as PDFs and printed out. |

To celebrate the bicentenary of Charles Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his groundbreaking book - The Origin of the Species -
