What is an Audio Trail?

Audio Trails are simply pre-recorded guides that will inform, educate and entertain. Easily downloaded onto MP3 players, iPods, mobile phones or PDA’s, Audio Trails can be accessed and listened to at any time. Audio Trails comprise a mix of audio ingredients such as spoken word, music and sound effects that can be tailored to your requirements.

The common use of an Audio Trail is to guide people around a site and interprete its history in an entertaining, informative and interactive way, but equally an 'audio picture' of your property can be created by our team. This can be placed on a website or within a visitor centre to provide a taste of what is on offer. This has proved to be an effective method of encouraging first time visitors to visit, as it provides an insight into what is there.

How do I download an Audio Trail?

Simply right click the 'download the Audio Trail' link and select 'save target as.......'. You will then be prompted to save the folder containing the Audio Trail files onto your computer. The files are contained in a 'zipped' folder, this simply saves you having to download each file in turn. Open the folder using Winzip or similar (most computers have it installed as standard, otherwise download a free version available from the internet). Follow the prompts and once you have accessed the files you can download them to whatever media device you have available.

Alternatively, the Audio Trail can be made available via a dedicated phone number (please note, this will incur a charge for the user), and can generate an income for the property. Contact Us for more details

We already provide interpretation for our visitors, why should we need an Audio Trail?

Audio Trails not only compliment existing methods of interpretation (such as leaflets and panels), but offer an unobtrusive method of delivering key messages and information, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With the advent of the 'mobile age' and such a high and growing ownership of mobile phones, MP3 players etc, your visitors are beginning to expect this accessible form of interpretation. In addition, the audio files can easily be updated if required, ensuring they always provide current information without the need for costly reprints.

An average 20 minute Audio Trail will deliver the equivalent of 8 sides of A4 (in 12pt font), which equates to much more detail than you would find on a leaflet or panel. And by using interviews of passionate people with authentic local accents, you create a unique atmosphere with unique personal stories.

But surely commissioning an Audio Trail is expensive?

Not at all, our productions are very competitively priced. Please Contact Us for a quote, you will be surprised!
